D. W. McGrath

D. W. McGrath

A Columbus contractor and builder who formerly lived in London is Mr. D. W. McGrath. He spent his boyhood here, and in 1874, started in life on his own account, soon establishing himself in Columbus, as a contractor and builder. His rise has been typical of what industry and push will accomplish. Columbus has hardly a conspicuous business structure not erected by Mr. McGrath. Among the more imposing are the Wyandotte, the Spahr, the Bronson, 12 stories high, the Outlook and the First National Bank buildings, on the eighth floor of which Mr. McGrath maintains elegant and complete offices.

Mr. McGrath built the present jail and handsome residence of the Sheriff in London, also the city hall in West Jefferson.

His affection for London and her people is still strong, and all who ever knew him rejoice in his prosperity.

Mr. McGrath is prominent as an Elk and Knight of Columbus, and popular with all who know him.
