George F. Dodds

The only monument maker in Madison county is Mr. George F. Dodds, a native of Xenia. He came to London, 1889, and established his present business. He had before coming here been associated with his father as a monument manufacturer. His experience is therefore not only a wide one, but thorough practical. Mr. Dodds is one of the progressive men in his line and makes every possible effort to supply a monument or memorial that is late in design, and elegant in finish.

In order to always have the latest in the market, he is continually on the lookout in all markets, making trips to all the most famous quarries, selecting those granites or marbles that will show superior finish, as well as possessing durable qualities. In this way he enjoys the advantage of personal selection, rather than depending upon what others tell him. His yards here are therefore filled with up-to-date designs, and of the best material. In equipment and facilities, he is prepared to do all kinds of carving and lettering, having the latest and most improved machinery.

Mr. Dodds enjoys a fine reputation as an original designer, and much of the work put out by him has been especially noted for appropriate and artistic effects. He is very popular in the city and county, active in business life and quick to advance the interests of the community.
