Madison County Photo Album
A. Dunkin
The subject of this sketch is a native of Madison county. He was born in London in 1830, and grew to manhood here. He began life as a farmer, and still manages and cultivates more than two thousand acres of very productive soil. For a period during the Civil War he was in commercial life in Cincinnati, buying and selling provisions, but eventually returning to London, where he has ever since resided, building business blocks, houses and buying and selling real estate. At present, Mr. Dunkin is one of the largest owners of realty in London, his holdings including the Grand Central Hotel building, and business property in many sections of the city. He is a Republican in politics, but has never sought or held office. He is modest in manner and quiet in speech, devoting his time and talents to the management of his own vast estates.
