AGED CONTRACTOR DEAD

James Self, Well Known London Resident, Dies of Pneumonia Wednesday.

Following a few weeks' illness of pneumonia, James Self, aged 84 years, a well known retired contractor of London, died about 5 o'clock Wednesday morning at his rooms in the Weber hotel.

Mr. Self had spent the winter with James Self of Franklin, Pa., and Russell Self of Toledo and returned to London about a month ago. He was taken with the grip and this resulted in pneumonia.

He engaged in building work and the manufacture of brick and spent most of his active life in this business. In later years he moved to his farm north of London, but about three years ago he returned to London and lived on East High street.

Mr. Self was married in England to Lavina Johnson who has been dead for many years. There were no children. Mr. Self has no living relatives. James and Russell Self are sons of an adopted child.

Mr. Self became a member of the Methodist church of London many years ago, but a few months ago he made a public confession of reconsecration and died happy in the Christian faith.

The funeral will be held at the M. E. church Friday at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. B. Pyle. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
